On June 4–5, 2025, l’Autorité Marocaine du Marché des Capitaux (AMMC) hosted the IOSCO–World Bank Technical Workshop on Sustainability Reporting Adoption Roadmaps in Rabat. This event brought together regulators from the Africa and Middle East region to explore potential strategies for ISSB sustainability disclosure standards adoption. Mr. Nasser Seddiqi, Senior Executive Director at AMMC, delivered the opening remarks, while Mr. Yasser Mounsif, Chair of the IOSCO-AMERC Sustainable Finance Working Group and Director of Issuers at AMMC, shared Morocco’s experience and insights on corporate sustainability reporting,as well as conclusions drawn from the AMERC internal report on The Use of Sustainability-related Disclosures in the region. The IOSCO Secretariat and the World bank consultants highlighted jurisdictional approaches for adoption and provided participants with tools to effectively navigate through different options for implementing the standards in their respective framweworks.
